Docent Orientation

Do you have an interest in history? Consider becoming a docent for the Kent-Delord
House Museum.  We are seeking individuals interested in leading tours and sharing the Delord
family story.  When you open the gate and enter this unique 18 th century treasure, you literally
step back in history. The museum remains one of the oldest houses in Plattsburgh and most of
what you see belonged to the Delord family.  They kept everything and communicated with each
other through letters for over a century.

There will be a docent training on May 11, 2019, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Museum
on 17 Cumberland Avenue, Plattsburgh. Experience is not necessary just a willingness to learn
and meet people. For more information, please call Samantha Williams at 518-561-1035 or email
us at [email protected].

The Kent Delord House Museum is proud to announce the awarding of a grant from The Champlain Valley National Heritage Partnership in support of our upcoming Military Muster. The event will feature an historical encampment, hands on activities of period trades and crafts, and educational exhibits. New to the encampment this year we will have coal forge blacksmithing demonstrations.
